For more than two decades, Dr. Thariani has served the Arlington and Herndon communities as the only Harvard-trained orthodontist.
As a child, he had a personal experience with dental trauma to his front teeth. The accident and the experience that followed left a lasting impression. He realized as a youngster that dental and orthodontic treatment can have a huge influence on a person’s confidence and a positive impact on one’s life.
That realization shaped his career choice to become an orthodontist. He completed an accelerated program as an undergraduate, and after completing his sophomore year, was accepted into dental school in Washington DC with a full scholarship. Subsequently, he completed his orthodontic certificate with a Master of Science from Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he conducted research on the effects of fluoride on enamel formation.
Dr. Tharani treats his patients like family. He strives to make their experience as positive and enjoyable as possible. He believes the orthodontic treatment should feel like a pleasant journey toward a healthier, happier, and confident person with a beautiful smile. He enjoys participating in various community service activities.
Dr. Thariani is an active member of multiple dental and orthodontic organizations:
- American Dental Association
- American Association of Orthodontists
- Virginia Association of Orthodontists
- Southern Association of Orthodontists
- Northern Virginia Dental Society
- Harvard Society for the Advancement of Orthodontics
